On "Juicebox," the album's first single, the fancy production works. Sometimes this works in The Strokes' favor, other times, not so much. "First Impressions of Earth" sounds glossy and big. The scrunched up, mid-fi production of "Is This It?" and "Room on Fire" is gone. Three albums in and The Strokes have decided to stretch their wings.
